WWE.com needs to market themselves a lot better. Of all the wrestling sites that I visit I never ever see any ads to the WWE.com website. The WWE could invest some more money into the advertising of their website. By doing this the WWE could gain much more visitors to the site.
If the WWE were to gain more vistors they could gain new fans and reclaim new ones. With the increased amount of visitors the WWE could attract better advertisers for their own website. Instead of a Netflix ad it could be a Toyota ad.
The WWE could increase value to the WWE entertainment product and more needed value to the WWE.com website. With the increase in value comes the increase of revenue to the WWE. It's never a bad idea to invest into a project that will pay you off in the same mannor.

WWE Replica World Title Belts
So I have been to about 6 WWE events this year and I have noticed a lot people carrying around the WWE replica title belts. I have seen people walking around with one belt around their waitst and one for each shoulder. They look really cool. There is no other word for it. They are just plain cool. I have always just looked at them and they look really nice. But I actually got my hands on one while I was at WWE Axxess and just played around with and after ten seconds something clicked in my head. "I want one of these!"
The day after I got my hands on one of the WWE belts I visited the WWE merchandise stand that was set up at our hotel. I was looking at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. I was soooooo close to forking out the $275 to buy one. Then my brother kinda gave me a look and realized that I didnt need one and food was more important so I set it down.

Thinking about my experience of almost buying a WWE replica belts I was thinking that the WWE could display the belts at all their mercahandise tables so people could actually pick up the belt and feel the real beauty of them. Currently the WWE has the belt at their live events but they are displayed on the wall with the rest of the merchandise like t-shirts. They are kept out of reach but they have them. Which is a good idea so no one steals them but Im sure the WWE has the money to make display stands with a special lock to put on them.
The WWE should capitalize on the impulse buyer. They could make special stands for displaying WWE replica belts so the WWE fans can actually feel the belts. The fans will be so impressed with the belt and just go ahead and but it right then and there. This would be a great way to increase venue merchandise and add even more value to the WWE replica title belts.

Manners Manual
What ever happened to manners? They seem to have been out lawed in this great country of ours. People these days seems to take, take, take, and take without giving thanks. I believe the internet seemed to ruin society and its values.
So since people seem to love to impress any random person why not capitalize on this. How about making a Manners Manual that people can study and apply to life to impress other people. Create a paper manual and an online manual people can use to learn manners.
Something like this would be great to lnvest in and something really great to have for the rest of America. Capitalize on shallow self fulfilling people who I believe love to spend spend spend!

WWE Live Event Tour T-Shirts
I love to attend live WWE event whenever I have an oppertunity in Utah or Nevada. I also love to attend concerts of my favorite bands. When I go to a concert I always get concert tour t-shirt. I am not exactly sure why but I always have to get a tour shirt. The tour shirt has to have the dates of bands tour on back of the shirt. Usually tour shirts at a concert are around $30. If I have to cash im never bothered by the price because something in me need to have to tour shirt.
During WrestleMania weekend in Phoenix I notice people wearing WWE tour t-shirts. They looked like a typical tour shirt. The front of the shirt had a print of a bunch of WWE wrestlers and on the back the shirt had all the dates. I approached the first person I saw wearing a WWE event tour shirt and asked where we got the shirt? The guy said to me in a french accent with terrible breath: "Ie speek noh english!" After I heard that all my questions were answered. The tour shirt was not from a WWE show in the United States. The WWE only makes tour shirts for there yearly overseas tours.
I am sure people in the United States would buy WWE tour t-shirts everytime they go to a WWE live event. So many people alreay buy concert tour shirts already I am sure people are more than willing to buy a WWE tour shirt. With a price around $25 I bet these shirts would sell like hot cakes. With a shirt with various dates it would be relevant in many different US cities. This is one idea that has good potential to increase the WWE's venue merchandise revenue and benefit tour shirt collectors like me.

WWE Foods
I was watching some old WWF shows online the other day and I was thinking about the old WWF cereal. I guess I was hungry at the time so I had food on my mind. But I remember as a kid going to the grocery store and looking for the WWF cereal. I would look through all the boxes to find the best wrestler. I was a huge Ultimate Warrior fan at the time so thats what I was really looking for.

I never did get a really cool wrestler because the best ones were always gone before I got there.
The WWF had there own branded foods back in the day. The cereal is the only one I remember because its the only stuff I could find and I never found the ice cream bars.

The WWF foods back in the 90's were a great idea. At the time the WWF was watered down and mainly appealed to kids. So I think now its a good idea for the WWE. With the PG rating attracting so many kids, the WWE could capitalize on the specialty packaged WWE foods. Ranging from cereal to ice cream bars to candy.
The WWE could create a new revenue stream by having a food line with the faces of the WWE on the food. Kids love the WWE and John Cena but I believe kids would love candy and John Cena together. This would be a great oppertunity for the WWE now or in the future.

WWE Event Packages
Just recently I finally attended World Wrestling Entertainments Super Bowl of live events Wrestlemania. Wrestlemania is the WWE's cash cow of live events. Ticket revenue is high and the pay per view buys are even higher. Ticket sales for the 2009 Wrestlemania in Houston Texas were around six million dollars and pay per view buys were around 25 million dollars. Venue mercahndise is also in the millions for the weekend events. Wrestlemania weekend is a very exciting weekend in WWE. It is the biggest event of WWE's year. The days leading to Wrestlemania there are events all weekend. The WWE holds their Hall of Fame event the day before Wrestlemania which has become another revenue generating event. There is also WWE Axxess which is an event for the fans to meet some WWE wrestlers and entertainers throughout the days leading up to Wrestlemania.
Me and my brother Corey purcahsed the Wrestlemania weekend package eight months before Wrestlemania for around 1600 dollars for two packages. The package included tickets to Wrestlemania, the Hall of fame, Axxess, and a special meet and greet with a WWE wrestle the day before Wrestlemania. Plus a three day and three night stay at a special hotel for the Wrestlemania weekend.
Being at all the events leadind up to Wrestlemania I noticed their were a ton of people who bought the weekend package. People from all around the world come to Wrestlemania. So i always kept think: "Why doesn't the WWE offer a special package like this to all of there big pay per view events." There are WWE fans all around the world that would pay good money to have an experience like this. Some may not be able to go to Wrestlemania but at some point they might be able to attend another event in the same year. Event packages similar to the ones that are offered for Wrestlemania would create some serious Live Event revenue.
Live Event revenue for the WWE is about 70% of total revenue but with a little clever planning of events in certain cities the WWE could increase total Live Event revenue.

WWE Home Video
I love watching as much World Wrestling Entertainment as possible. I go online and find old and new WWE wrestling videos to watch when ever I can. I have a lot of old wrestling video tapes stored back home in blanding that I would love to watch but it is hard when I dont have a VCR player and blanding is 300 milies away. There is also a lot more WWE wrestling videos that I have not seen ever. This is one WWE Pay Per View event called In Your House: D-Generation X.

This is one PPV I have always wanted to watch but I have never come accross in the last ten years.
The WWE has a place where you can go to and watch a lot of old WWE shows and matches. The main focus of the WWE Classics site is on just single matches.
This is great for watching single matches but for me I would like to see the whole event that goes with that one match offered. THe Classics site is also a pay site but I honestly don't think that $40 a year is worth the cost of just single event matches and I could easily go to other video websites and fine the single match with no problem. I think it would be worth it if the site had full Pay Per View events. Events like the In Your House PPV I have been looking for forever.
I wish the WWE had a better place I could go to online to watch full PPV events. A place that has full wrestling PPV events. I would pay good money to subscribe to a site like this. I believe there is a lot more people around the world that world join a site like this to watch full WWE events. This would make the WWE product so valueble. To pay for good old WWE programming that you really could not get anywhere else can only to good things for the brand and the bottom line.

WWE Advertising
Rolling along with the World Wrestling Entertainment blogs I have noticed something weak while I was skimming through the WWE's 2009 Annual 10-K Report. Under the business section where all the revenue interests of the company is listed, the Advertising section reported how much the company earned for the last three years. Net revenue for advertising and sponsoships was 7.7 million for 2009, 7.4 million for 2008, and 5.9 million for 2007. The amounts account for less than 2% of total revenue for all three years.
My issues with this is that the WWE doesnt utilize the social networking websites to their advantage. Websites like Facebook and MySpace are so popular with everyone on any age level. Millions and millions of people are apart of the social networking community. I have been apart of the WWE Facebook and MySpace page for awhile now and I hardly ever hear or see anything about the WWE. Of the millions and millions of viewers every week watching the WWE there is only about 475,000 fans apart of the WWE Facebook page.
The WWE could easily put their name out there through a Facebook or MySpace and gain millions of new fans. With a better investment in soical networking websites the WWE could gain better Advertising and Sponsorship deals with companies they never could have gotten before.
Attracting new and better adversiting deals will only increase the value of the WWE product. The increased value of the WWE will attract even more companies with deeper pockets. Eventually this will increase the total revenue from advertising.

WWE Venue Merchandise
Going with the theme of my previous blog about the business of the World Wrestling Entertainment I have been thinking about the distribution of there merchandise. I have been to a few different WWE live events in that past couples months and there is a few things that have been bothering me about the distribution of there merchindise.
Being a life time WWE fan I have spent several thousands of dollars on WWE t-shirts and maybe some othere various little toys but mainly I just buy the shirts. On March 6th of this year I attended the Raw Live event in Salt Lake City, Utah. Going to the event I was expecting there was going to be a large selection of WWE shirts from different wrestlers. I was specifically looking to get the John Morrison Revolution t-shirt.
Well when I got into the arena I came to find out that they did not have the John Morrison t-shirt.
Now there was a good chance that they would not have the shirt at the event. The WWE has two shows that travel around the country and put on live events. The two shows are Raw and Smackdown and have different wrestlers on each show. I was attending the Raw show and John Morrison is a wrestler on the Smackdown show. Know you would think that I should have known better then not to get my hopes up. Well I disagree. The Undertaker is another wrestler on the Smackdown show with John Morrison but it just so happens they had plenty of Undertaker t-shirts at the Raw show.
The next WWE event I got to is WrestleMania 26 three weeks later. I attended the events held before WrestleMania like the Hall of Fame and two Axxess events. The merchandise stands where at all the events. And just my luck at every merchandise during WrestleMania weekend I could not find the John Morrison Revolution t-shirt. After the Salt Lake event I went to WrestleMania weekend and visited about 6 different merchindise stands and still could not find the shirt I really wanted.
So this brings me to my disapointment of the distribution of WWE merchindise. The venue merchandise at the WWE live events seem to only have merchindise of a certain group of WWE wrestlers/entertainers.
The group is mainly: John Cena, Triple H, The Undertaker, and Rey Masterio. Two are from Raw and two are from Smackdown.

WrestleMania is a special event where every wrestle is featured in one single event so you would think that the shirt I wanted would be there. But it wasn't. I bought alot of merchindise duing WrestleMania weekend but still had an extra $25 in my budget for the John Morrison shirt that the WWE did not get.
I am certain I am not the only one that feels this way. I could just give up and go online to the offical WWEShop website and order the damn shirt. But I don't order stuff online line much and I hate the wait and the risk of not being comfortable with the size. So I am saying if the WWE could diversify theri venue merchindise alot more for everyone on both of their shows they could increase that segment of revenue. Looking at the WWE 10-k I see that venue merchandise is only 4% of total revenue and has stayed at that level for the last three years.
There is no doubt a majority of fans are going to want to buy the John Cena merchindise at every show weather it be Raw or Smackdown but maybe a few other fans might be holding out for that John Morrison t-shirt like I did. Two days after WrestleMania I attended another WWE show in Las Vegas. This time it was a Smackdown show and I finally got my John Morrison t-shirt! If the World Wrestling Entertainment could diversify their venue merchandise at every single show weather it be Raw or Smackdown they could increase revenue easily and fans like me would be quite satisfied.
